11 Rescued Dachshunds Have Been Adopted | Friday, February 22
Not only did they ALL need dental work, they all needed to be spayed or neutered, and several had medical conditions which needed treatment before they could be adopted out to new families. Dr. Roeder generously did ALL of the above work for just $2,000 but that was a big strain on the shelter financially and money spent on these dogs, took away from already limited resources that we have to spend on other animals in our care. We would be very grateful for any donation you can give to help cover medical expenses for the Doxies. They have all been adopted out now, but the vet bills remain :) Thank you so much for your interest in these wonderful little dogs.

Donations from Orange County 4 H Club | Wednesday, August 8
Members and parents of the Orange County 4 H Club visited the shelter today and brought us many items on our wish list! They got a tour of the shelter and had fun playing with our two cute Beagle pups. Thank you very much 4 H boys and girls for your generous donations!
First Open Late Thursday a Success! | Thursday, July 12
July 12, a Thursday, was our first day we were open late. We had one staff and three volunteers on hand. We had about a dozen people come in and one kitten (Charm) adopted. Not bad for our first time!

7 Cats Neutered Today @ TARA | Thursday, May 3
The line was long but the price was right! Participating in a Will Spay Pets spay neuter clinic is just $25 per cat including a rabies shot. We brought 7 cats to be spayed or neutered today, including a shelter favorite Cinnamon... he's one of our two FIV cats who has been adopted with his room mate Boo Boo! Stay tuned for photos when they go home with their new family :)

Clean Up and Landscaping Improvements | Saturday, April 14
Thank you so much to Board Secretary Dean who cleaned up and landscaped around our road sign! It looks great and stands out so much better than it did before. You can actually see the sign now from both directions as you approach.
Good Friday Bake Sale Raises $707 | Friday, April 6
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to purchase goodies from our bake sale! We raised over $700 for the cats and dogs at our shelter!
Thank You BOCES Students! | Sunday, April 1
Thank you so much to the Orange and Ulster county BOCES students, for repairing many of our dog beds. All our dogs now have a bed that gets them up off the floor and onto a warmer dry wood frame with a blanket.
